Her favorite time of the camp day is the morning when she gets to see campers reunite with their counselors with giant smiles on their faces.Īndrea holds a degree in Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, a Master’s Degree in Education from National Louis University, and a General Administrative Certification from Concordia University. She was a camper, a counselor, a Unit Head, and then the Assistant Director of Apachi Evanston, and currently the Camp Director of Apachi Evanston and Rogers Park. Plus, an indoor heated swimming pool and indoor air-conditioned spaces make this the perfect backdrop for campers to create friendships and memories that last a lifetime. You may not see it from our front doors, but venture out back and you’ll discover a gorgeous, expansive green athletic field with two baseball diamonds, shaded areas, a rock climbing wall, an archery range, two playgrounds and a large tent at the center of the campus. In addition, our wide variety of activities, including Judaic learning, daily davening, arts & crafts, sports & games, archery, plus Color Wars and theme days make each week special. The J prides itself on giving campers the opportunity to discover their personal passions through innovative chugim (choice-based specialties). We also prioritize camper care and every camper’s social emotional growth is supported as they navigate relationships and form friendships, gain independence and build confidence. As a Jewish Orthodox camp, summer at the J has a strong emphasis on a torah-rich environment, which is combined with daily camp fun. ![]()
